Give a Damn Studios (GADS) was born out of a moment of realization: with years of experience, a home filled with music gear, and a drive to create, Ryan Sladek had everything they needed to start running quality sessions from their own space. The studio name came naturally too—reflecting Ryan’s approach to their work and community. Inspired by the words on a felt pendant in their studio, “Give a Damn” became a perfect reminder of their commitment to giving marginalized artists a voice and creating a space where everyone could truly belong.

At GADS, Ryan strives to keep things as stress-free as possible. Artists can step into the homey studio, let their guard down, and focus on what matters most: their creativity. Ryan’s long-term vision is to grow while maintaining the intimate, personal atmosphere that makes GADS special, with hopes of moving to a larger space someday. But for now, they’re focused on building a community of artists in Sacramento who are free to experiment, laugh, and make music that truly matters.
